Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 June 2026
Signal Society ("Signal Society", "we", "us", or "our") builds a personalized affirmation-audio practice for iPhone. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We designed Signal Society to keep your personal content yours, and we collect only what we need to provide and improve the service.
By using our website or app, or by joining our waitlist, you agree to the practices described here.
Who we are
The data controller responsible for your information is [Registered legal entity name], located at [Registered business address] ("Signal Society"). You can reach us about any privacy matter at privacy@signalsociety.app.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Waitlist & contact details. If you join our waitlist or contact us, we collect your email address and the contents of your message.
- Your Signal content (in the app). The affirmations and personal words you write, the voice and audio settings you choose, and the responses you give during onboarding and daily check-ins. This is the heart of your practice, and it belongs to you.
- Account details (in the app). Basic information needed to create and secure your account.
Information collected automatically
- Usage & device data. How you interact with the app and site (for example, features used, session length), plus technical data such as device type, operating-system version, and general app performance and diagnostics.
- Cookies & similar technologies. Our website uses only what is needed to function and to understand aggregate traffic. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers.
Information from others
- App Store & payments. When you subscribe, Apple processes your payment. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but not your full payment-card details.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, personalize, and maintain the Signal Society practice, including assembling your Signal in the voice and style you choose.
- To operate our waitlist and tell you when the app is available.
- To respond to your questions and provide support.
- To improve the product, fix problems, and keep the service secure.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the private contents of your Signal to target advertising.
3. How your information is shared
We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers. Trusted vendors who help us run the service, for example cloud hosting and storage, audio (text-to-speech) processing, subscription management, and analytics. They may process information only on our instructions and are bound to protect it.
- People you choose. If you share a Signal Key, the practice configuration you chose to share becomes available to the person you give it to. You control whether and with whom you share.
- Legal & safety. Where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the public.
- Business transfers. If Signal Society is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
4. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you cancel a subscription, we retain your saved practice and history so you can return to it later; we delete or anonymize your personal information when you delete your account, unless we are required to keep it for legal reasons.
5. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@signalsociety.app.
- Waitlist. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link; you can opt out at any time.
- Account data. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
6. Legal bases for processing (EEA / UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal information on these legal bases:
- Performance of a contract, to provide the Service you sign up for (for example, building and delivering your Signal).
- Legitimate interests, to operate, secure, and improve the Service, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent, for our waitlist and marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Legal obligation, where we must process information to comply with the law.
7. Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect (identifiers such as your email, your account and personal content, and usage and device data), the purposes for collecting it (as described above), to request access to or deletion of your information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To make a request, email privacy@signalsociety.app.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to safeguard your data and to respond promptly to any incident.
9. Children's privacy
Signal Society is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. International users
We may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this Policy and applicable law.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
